Our Front Page with Year 4...
This Term in Year 4, we are learning about drama and movement. To do this, we are exploring the concept of puppetry and how they can tell stories through frozen movements, dialogue and improvisation. In class we have been working hard to make 'Junk Yard Puppets' out of scrap materials from home and at school. Here are some of our creations.
Our Gospel Reflection
This week we return to the liturgical season of Ordinary Time. This Sunday and next, however, are designated as solemnities—special days that call our attention to central mysteries of our faith. This week is Trinity Sunday where we celebrate the mystery of the Holy Trinity, one God in three persons.
Because of God’s great love for us, he sent his Son, Jesus, to save the world. Jesus, in turn, sent the Holy Spirit so that our faith in God and his love would be strengthened. The nurturing experiences of family life also help us to understand and have faith in God’s love.
Create a family poster together showing all the ways in which your family experiences God’s great love. Use symbols, pictures, and words to show how you have seen God at work in your family life and in our history. Then read together today’s Gospel, John 3:16-18. Pray together, thanking God for his gift of love. Conclude by praying the Glory Be To The Father or Sunday’s Psalm.
From Our Principal
National Sorry Day and Reconciliation Week
Last Friday and this week, we pause to remember National Sorry Day and Reconciliation Week. This is a time for all Australians to reflect on the Stolen Generations and to commit to working towards a more just and equitable future for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. As a Catholic school, we are committed to reconciliation. We believe that all people are created in the image of God and that we have a responsibility to love and respect one another.
Congratulations
As a school community we were so excited to hear of the news that last Friday the 26th of May, saw the safe arrival of Callie Illah Farrell. We extend our biggest congratulations to new parents, Kayla and Riley and we look forward to meeting little Callie in the near future.
Tell Them From Me
Many thanks to all families who participated in the recent Tell Them From Me survey that our school participated in earlier this term. I am so pleased with the 90% survey return and this gives us a very good base from which to act upon the feedback. I will be presenting the survey results at our next meeting of the Parent Forum next Tuesday the 6th of June at 3:30pm in the School Library. All families are most welcome to attend and a reminder that there will be activities for your children whilst the meeting takes place.
Kindergarten 2024 Information Sessions
With Ready4Learning now inot full swing it is time to host our Kindergarten Information Sessions for those parents who have a child or children ready to start school in 2024. From the Wellbeing Team...
This week’s strength is LEADERSHIP.
Leadership describes the strength of being good at organising group activities and encouraging a group to get things done. Schools are typically where you might find many people with a well-developed strength of leadership – your teachers, principal and assistant principals for starters!
Is leadership a particular strength that also belongs to you or someone close to you? Take a
moment to acknowledge the strength of leadership in yourself and those around you, and consider
how this strength enriches life for you and many others.
Seasons For Growth
Dear Families,
Just a reminder that St. Brigid’s is offering the Seasons For Growth Program to students in 2023. This is a small group program based on the belief that change, loss and grief are a normal and natural art of life. If you feel that your child might benefit from Seasons, please nominate your interest via the link below. If your child is nominated, a Permission Form and Information Letter further outlining the Program will be sent home with your child.
https://forms.gle/
Please note, it is recommended that anyone affected by bereavement wait 6 to 12 months before participating in the Seasons For Growth Program.
Kindly,
Sereena Zanuso Student Support Worker.
