Catholic Primary Rugby League Carnival - Stage 3
The students in Stage 3 who registered for this carnival had an early rise today as they had to travel all the way to Coffs Harbour for this event. The team has had great success, winning all the earlier games and making it through to the finals. The other team, St Peter's, has been equally successful so it should be an exciting match.
Unfortunately, St Brigid's lost the final, but we congratulate our team on a mighty effort today. We have many aspiring players who showcased their skills during these games and we commend them on their teamwork and sportsmanship. Well done Stage 3!

Our Gospel Reflection
Our Gospel Reading this Sunday comes from Luke and it reflects on the time when the apostles asked Jesus to teach them to pray. Jesus responds by teaching them the Lord's Prayer, also called the 'Our Father'.
The disciples simple question led to what is now the model for all Christian prayer. It is the perfect prayer in that it covers everything regarding our relationship with God and our needs as God's children. The structure of the prayer even helps us to put our lives in proper order.
The Lord's Prayer teaches us how to love God and gives us the words to express and deepen that love. As followers of Jesus, we are called to not only pray the Lord's prayer frequently but also to live it.
From Our Principal
Welcome back to Term 3! We trust that you have all had a safe and enjoyable break and are ready for another busy term of learning and fun. There’s lots happening this term and I ask that you keep a copy of our Term calendar close by for easy reference.
We are all keeping our fingers crossed for the weather to allow us to conduct our Athletics Carnival tomorrow.
Next Tuesday 26th July is the celebration of Grandparents Day and we look forward to welcoming as many families as possible to celebrate the gift of our Grandparents. Speaking from experience this is a wonderful stage of life that I am in and I just love spending time with my grandchildren. There is a real special bond between grandparents and their grandchildren.
Next term we will be introducing a new Administration and Financial system into our school. This will involve a lot of training for our staff to ensure the transition of the new system goes without a hitch. There will be information shared with parents during the course of the term to assist you all in how it will impact on our financial dealings and communications with home. Stay tuned for more!!
Have a wonderful Term 3 and God bless,
Tony

Grandparents Day
One of the best days on our school calendar is the celebration of Grandparents Day. We celebrate this day on Tuesday the 26th of July – the Feast of Sts Joachim and Anne who are the parents of Mary and therefore the grandparents of Jesus. We will be celebrating and thanking God for the gift of all grandparents and we know the students look forward to having their grandparents here at school. Please join us for a special Liturgy in the hall at 12.20pm. We invite you to bring a BYO lunch to share with your family, and St Brigid's will offer a cuppa during the break. Grandparents may even like to take their grandchild to the Bookfair on this day and purchase a book or two for them. We look forward to welcoming you to this special celebration.
St Brigid's Book Fair - Tuesday 26 August
Positive Behaviour 4 Learning
St Brigid’s Primary School has four main guiding principles which we ask of all in our community:
Safety, Effort, Respect and Self Responsibility - we refer to these as our SERS
Each week one aspect from each of these behaviour principles is emphasised through our school. It is introduced to the students on Monday morning and posters are placed in the classroom and around the school.
Focus for Week 1: We follow classroom rules and expectations then everyone can learn and have a great day.
2023 Enrolments
Enrolments for any class for 2023 are currently being finalised. Please, if you know of anyone intending to join the St Brigid's community for 2023, ask them to get their enrolment applications in now!
Our staffing allocation will be based on our enrolments at Census. This occurs at the beginning of August. Please do not hesitate to contact our Principal, Mr Hunter, if you have any questions or would like to inquire about enrolling here at St Brigid's for 2023 or even sooner.
